Wedding Chauffeur Service
Our wedding chauffeur service brings the same care as our Geneva luxury transfer service to the most important day: elegant Mercedes cars with drivers for the couple, the families and the guests. We also meet guests flying in from abroad at Geneva Airport. Everything is booked online, with the price shown before secure payment.

Wedding cars, Geneva luxury transfer style
On a wedding day, every minute counts and no one should be thinking about parking. From the morning pick-up of the bride or groom to the ceremony, the photo session and the reception, one chauffeur handles every leg and waits while you say your vows. At night, chauffeurs bring guests back to their hotels so everyone can celebrate without driving. The usual formula combines an hourly booking (from 2 hours) for the couple with transfers, a Van or a Minibus for family and guests.
Cars for the couple and their guests
- For the couple: the First Class Sedan (Mercedes S-Class), or the Business Sedan (Mercedes E-Class)
- For family and friends: a Van (Mercedes V-Class) seating 7, or a Minibus (Mercedes Sprinter, on request)
- Chauffeur on standby through the ceremony and photos, within your booked hours
- Late-night rides back to the guests' hotels
- Child seats for young guests, on request
Guests arriving by air
Relatives flying in are met in the arrivals hall at Geneva Airport, name sign raised, and taken directly to where they are staying. Reserving these rides for parents and grandparents means they reach the rehearsal dinner relaxed and punctual.
Settings from the lake to the Alps
In and around Geneva: churches of the Old Town, the quays, the villages and vineyards of the Geneva countryside, estates in Coppet, Versoix and Nyon. Along Lake Geneva: Rolle, Morges, Lausanne, Vevey, the Lavaux vineyards near Cully, Montreux and Glion, with the Château de Chillon close by for photographs. In France: Annecy, Talloires, Évian-les-Bains, Divonne-les-Bains. In the mountains: Gstaad, Verbier, Crans-Montana, Zermatt (via Täsch), Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and Megève, with guests driven up from the airport and back afterwards.
Planning and booking
Share the exact addresses of ceremony and reception, car access at each venue and a contact person such as the wedding planner or a witness. For a mountain venue or narrow vineyard road, tell us early so we choose a suitable vehicle and allow enough time between stages. Book the couple's car by the hour online, add guest transfers, check the price and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay via Stripe; confirmation arrives by e-mail at once. For a day with many movements, send the timeline to contact@genevachauffeurcarservice.com or message +41 78 871 71 33 on WhatsApp: we prepare a plan with every car, chauffeur and time.
Who this service is for
A wedding in the Geneva region brings together people who live in several countries, arrive on different flights and need to be in several places within a few hours. The couple, their parents and witnesses, the wedding party and the guests who travel from abroad each have a different timetable. A wedding chauffeur service in Geneva suits couples who prefer to delegate the movements, families who want the grandparents to arrive without a taxi search, and wedding planners who coordinate the day on behalf of a client and need a reliable car at each step.
Guests who come from abroad often land at Geneva Airport the day before, the morning of, or even on the afternoon of the ceremony. Planning their transfers in advance means nobody spends the morning looking for a ride, and the bridal party can focus on the schedule instead of on the arrivals board.
Building the timeline of the wedding day
A good timeline starts from the ceremony and works outward. Note the time the ceremony begins, the time the civil or religious formalities require you to be seated, and the length of the photo session that follows. Then add the reception, the time the couple wishes to leave the venue and the moment the last guests should be back at their hotels. Each of these points becomes a pick-up or a drop-off, and each leg is booked so that the chauffeur knows where to be and when.
Many couples find it useful to draw the day as a simple sequence: preparation at the hotel or home, the first transfer to the ceremony, a short drive for portraits, the reception, and the return. Writing the sequence with approximate times keeps the family aware of who goes where, and it gives the chauffeurs a shared reference for the whole day.
- Morning: pick-up of the bride or groom, and of the parents or witnesses if they travel separately.
- Late morning or early afternoon: transfer to the ceremony location, with time for arrival and seating.
- After the ceremony: a short drive to the photo locations chosen by the couple.
- Evening: transfer to the reception, and later the return of guests to their hotels.
Venues around Geneva and Lake Geneva
The region offers very different wedding settings. Some couples choose a venue in the city of Geneva, close to the lake and the old town, where the walk from the car to the entrance is short. Others prefer a manor or an estate on the lakeside, where the drive along the water is part of the atmosphere. Towns such as Lausanne, Vevey and Montreux have historic buildings, lakefront terraces and gardens, and the road along the shore is a pleasant route to take with the chauffeur.
Some weddings take place in the mountains above the lake, in chalets or hotels set away from the main roads. The journey to these places is slower, and it can be affected by weather and by seasonal road conditions, so the chauffeur plans with a wider margin. When you describe your venues, mention the access road, any restricted streets and where guests are likely to park, so that the chauffeur can prepare the drop-off point in advance.
Because venues vary so much, we ask for the address and the access details at the time of booking, rather than relying on a general description. This avoids the common issue of a venue that is accessible only by a narrow track or a pedestrian zone at the time of arrival.
Vehicles for the couple and for the guests
The choice of car reflects both the number of people and the amount of luggage. A couple with a garment bag, a suitcase and a small case for the rings and personal items fits comfortably in a Mercedes E-Class, which carries three passengers and three bags. A Mercedes S-Class seats three passengers with two bags and is chosen when the atmosphere of the arrival matters most. A Mercedes V-Class seats seven passengers with ten bags, which is practical for a parent group or a set of cousins travelling together. For larger parties, the Premium Jet Van Sprinter carries up to 19 passengers and 20 bags and is available on request.
Think about the garment bags as well as the seats. A dress or a suit travels better flat and upright, and the vehicle should have room to lay it out without creasing. Tell us when you book how many garment bags and special cases will travel, so that the vehicle is chosen with the outfits in mind rather than only the number of passengers.
Booking the wedding programme, step by step
Online booking is the simplest way to reserve the day, and each journey follows the same path from request to arrival:
- Request and choice. Enter each journey, the date, the time and the vehicle. The fixed price per vehicle is displayed before you pay.
- Secure payment. Pay online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
- Confirmation. An e-mail confirmation arrives instantly, listing each leg of the programme.
- Flight tracking. For guests arriving from abroad, the inbound flight is followed so that the pick-up follows the real landing time.
- Meet and greet. At arrivals, the chauffeur waits with a name sign, which is especially helpful for guests who have never visited Geneva.
- Luggage and the drive. Bags are loaded, and the route is driven as planned, with the waiting time included when the flight is delayed.
Bookings can be made online up to 12 hours before a journey. For a change on the day, or for a programme that must be arranged at shorter notice, call or message us on WhatsApp at +41 78 871 71 33. The service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which is useful for early morning preparations and for late returns after the celebration.
Timing and the buffer that protects the day
Weddings rarely run exactly to the minute, and the chauffeur plans with that in mind. A reasonable buffer before the ceremony covers traffic in the city, parking or drop-off at the venue, and the time needed for the bridal party to be seated. A buffer after the ceremony covers the photo session, which often runs longer than planned because of the light, the weather or the number of groups.
When the photo session overruns, the simplest solution is to tell us as soon as the change is known. The chauffeur can then adjust the next leg, and the hourly booking, which starts from 2 hours, can be extended for the couple so that the programme continues without the bridal party waiting at the roadside.
Guests arriving from abroad
Guests flying into Geneva from other countries may be unfamiliar with the airport, the rail links and the roads. A pre-booked transfer removes the uncertainty. The guest lands, finds a chauffeur with a name sign, has luggage handled and reaches the hotel without choosing a taxi queue or a route. For family members travelling together, the V-Class offers space for everyone and their cases on one journey.
Send each guest their own pick-up details, including the flight number, the terminal and the name on the sign, so that they know exactly what to expect. A short message the evening before the flight helps guests feel prepared, and it reduces the number of calls on the morning of the wedding.
Late evenings and the return to the hotel
A wedding reception often finishes late, and not everyone wants to drive or to search for a taxi in the small hours. Booking the return transfers in advance lets the guests enjoy the evening and leave when they choose. The chauffeur can take a group back to several hotels in turn, or bring the couple to their own accommodation after the last dance. Confirm the addresses of each hotel with the guests before the day, because a hotel name alone may not match the entrance used by the car.
Keep a list of the names and the hotels on one sheet, and share it with the person in charge of the transfers. A clear list reduces confusion at the end of the evening, when people are tired and the car is waiting outside.
Accessibility and older guests
Weddings bring together guests of every age, and some will find the step into a car more difficult than others. The E-Class, the S-Class and the V-Class offer different seating heights and door arrangements, and the V-Class has sliding side doors that make getting in and out simpler for many people. Tell us about any guest who needs extra time or support when booking, so that the vehicle and the pick-up point can be chosen with care. The chauffeur helps with luggage and gives a calm, punctual ride, but personal assistance should come from a member of the party.
Comparing the chauffeur with taxis, ride-hailing and hotel shuttles
Taxis and ride-hailing apps are convenient for a single guest on a short trip, yet they depend on availability at the time of need, and a wedding morning is a poor moment to search for a car. Hotel shuttles are useful when the schedule is fixed and the hotel is the only stop, but they rarely fit a programme that moves between the bridal suite, the church or town hall, the photo locations and the reception.
A booked chauffeur is the option that keeps the whole day in one plan. The cars are reserved for your group, the route is agreed in advance, and each movement is linked to the next. The cost is that the booking is made before the day, which is also the reason the plan can be trusted on the day itself.
- Taxi: spontaneous, but less predictable for a timed programme.
- Ride-hailing: quick for one person, less suited to a large family group with garment bags.
- Hotel shuttle: useful for a single fixed route, limited for a multi-stop day.
- Private chauffeur: planned movements, dedicated vehicles and luggage handling included.
Practical items for the wedding day
A short list of practical details saves time on the morning. Keep the garment bags zipped and labelled, pack the rings and documents in a small bag that stays with the couple, and check that the phone numbers of the key family members are shared with the transfer coordinator. Decide before the day who will be the contact for the chauffeur, so that instructions are not repeated by several people with different versions.
Keep a printed copy of the timeline in the car and a digital copy on your phone. If the ceremony location changes, update us at once so that the route is recalculated and the new time is confirmed in writing.
Coordinating family members on separate flights
Families rarely land together. One set of grandparents may come from North America, a cousin from London and the bride's sister from a city in the Gulf, each on a different flight and at a different hour. Instead of trying to match all of these arrivals by hand, it helps to list every inbound flight in one place: the traveller's name as it appears on the passport, the airline, the flight number, the scheduled landing time and the hotel where the person will stay. Each line becomes a separate transfer, and the schedule is set so that the arrivals fit around the rehearsal, the family lunch and the day itself.
When flights are spread over two or three days, it is sensible to plan the first transfers early and to keep the later ones flexible. A guest who lands at night can be collected and taken to the hotel without disturbing the morning. A guest who arrives on the wedding morning needs a pick-up confirmed the evening before, with a direct telephone or WhatsApp contact in case the flight is moved. Tracking covers the landing, and the waiting time after landing is included, so an early or late arrival does not create a second booking.
- List every traveller with the name exactly as it appears on the passport or travel document.
- Note the terminal and airline, since the arrival hall can change between carriers.
- Decide which family member is responsible for sharing flight updates with the chauffeur team.
- Confirm each hotel name and the entrance the car should use on arrival.
Separated relatives sometimes wish to travel from the airport in the same car as the couple, and sometimes prefer a separate ride. Both options are possible. The planning question is simply how many people travel together, and the vehicle chosen should follow from that answer rather than from habit.
Weather, seasons and the wedding calendar
The season changes the character of a wedding day in the Geneva region. Spring and early summer bring long daylight, which makes outdoor portraits along the lake easy to plan, but also busier roads on weekends. Late summer can be hot, and a car that is cooled before guests step in is more comfortable for elegant clothing. Autumn offers mild weather and changing colours in the vineyards above the lake, although the light fades earlier in the afternoon, which affects the photo timetable. Winter weddings are often quiet and atmospheric, yet snow and ice can slow journeys to mountain venues, so the margins are wider.
Some dates attract more traffic than others, including public holidays and the weekends when several weddings take place in the same town. If your date coincides with a major event in the region, let us know at the time of booking, so the chauffeur can plan the route through the busiest areas with more care and the timetable can absorb any delays.
When the forecast is uncertain, it helps to agree a backup plan with the couple for the photo session: an indoor location, a shorter route or a different order of movements. The chauffeur does not decide the photo plan, but the schedule can be adjusted quickly once the couple has chosen, provided the change is communicated early.
- Spring and summer: plan for longer daylight, busy weekend roads and warm days for formal clothing.
- Autumn: plan for earlier sunsets when scheduling portraits and evening transfers.
- Winter: plan for wider margins on mountain routes and for road conditions that change during the day.
Related services and questions before you book
Many wedding programmes combine hourly service for the couple with airport transfers for guests. A chauffeur by the hour, from 2 hours, covers the day itself, and a return trip carries a reduction of 10 % on the return leg when the guests travel back to Geneva after the celebration. Child seats can be requested when booking for younger guests, and vehicles can be chosen to suit the size of the party.
Before confirming, make sure that every address and time is listed, that the vehicle matches the number of passengers and garment bags, and that any child seats are noted. If your wedding involves several locations or a late reception, describe the day and we will suggest a sensible order of movements. A calm, well-planned programme is the simplest way to let the day unfold without logistics demanding attention.
