Les Arcs

Skip the funicular in Bourg-Saint-Maurice and ride all the way up to your residence instead. Les Arcs groups four modern villages at different altitudes, named after their height, and shares the Paradiski domain with La Plagne; families and friends book its slope-side apartments season after season. Our private ski transfer from Geneva Airport drives you to whichever Arc village you are staying in.

Route and travel time

The private transfer from Geneva Airport to Les Arcs covers about 210 km and takes 2 h 15 to 2 h 30 depending on the village. Your chauffeur reaches Annecy on the A41, Albertville on the A430, then follows the N90 through the Tarentaise to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. From there the D119 climbs in hairpins to Arc 1600, Arc 1800 and Arc 1950, and the road ends at Arc 2000, 1,200 metres above the valley.

On high-season Saturdays the queues at Moûtiers and Bourg-Saint-Maurice can add an hour: we plan the pick-up time accordingly and tell you if a shifted departure is better.

Arc 1600, 1800, 1950, 2000: four villages, four roads

  • Arc 1600: the first village, linked to Bourg-Saint-Maurice by funicular, first-generation residences and views of Mont Blanc.
  • Arc 1800: the largest and liveliest, divided into quarters (Le Charvet, Les Villards, Charmettoger, Chantel) with most of the shops and residences.
  • Arc 1950: the pedestrian village in traditional style, built over covered car parks: your chauffeur drops you at the village car park and your luggage follows to the residence.
  • Arc 2000: the highest, at the foot of the Aiguille Rouge (3,226 m), for early- and late-season skiing.

The villages are several kilometres of hairpin road apart: give the village and the exact residence when booking.

What the fixed price includes

The price shown before payment is for the whole vehicle, with no supplement for passengers, luggage or traffic.

  • Meet and greet in arrivals with a name board, Swiss or French sector depending on your flight.
  • Flight tracking and 60 minutes of free waiting time.
  • Skis, snowboards, boot bags and suitcases loaded by the chauffeur.
  • A direct journey to your door, with no other passengers.
  • Tolls, fuel and VAT included; child seats on request at no extra charge.

Which vehicle for Les Arcs

With a family or from four passengers, the Mercedes V-Class (7 passengers, 10 bags) is the natural choice: skis flat in the boot, boots under the seats. For two or three, the E-Class or S-Class. For a shared chalet or a group of 8 to 19, the Sprinter is offered on quotation.

The road to Les Arcs in winter

From Bourg-Saint-Maurice to Arc 2000 the D119 strings together hairpin bends for 20 km. The road is well cleared but ices quickly at the end of the day. Our Mercedes run on winter tyres with chains on board, as the Mountain Law applied in Savoie from 1 November to 31 March requires, and our chauffeurs know the residence accesses, sometimes dead ends above the slopes.

Paradiski: Les Arcs and La Plagne linked

Les Arcs forms the Paradiski area with Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne, about 425 km of pistes linked by the Vanoise Express cable car over the Ponturin valley. Les Arcs' own area tops out at the Aiguille Rouge (3,226 m) with a descent of more than 2,000 vertical metres to Villaroger. The season generally runs from mid-December to late April. From Bourg-Saint-Maurice the funicular climbs to Arc 1600 in seven minutes: handy for a day in town or a departure from the station.

Child seats, pushchairs and equipment

Enter your children's ages when booking: an infant carrier, child seat or booster is fitted in advance. The V-Class takes a folded pushchair as well as skis. If you are hiring equipment in Les Arcs, tell us; a smaller vehicle may be enough.

Your transfer step by step

  1. Online booking with flight number, village and residence; fixed price shown before payment.
  2. The day before, you receive the chauffeur's name and phone number.
  3. On landing the time is adjusted; the chauffeur waits in arrivals.
  4. Loading, immediate departure.
  5. About 2 h 15 to 2 h 30 later, drop-off at your residence in Les Arcs.

No change at Bourg-Saint-Maurice

Bourg-Saint-Maurice station is the terminus of the TGV and Eurostar. For Arc 1600 the funicular works well; for the other villages you then need a bus with your skis, or a second funicular and an internal shuttle. A private transfer avoids every change, leaves at your flight's actual arrival time and delivers every bag to your door, in Arc 1800 as in Arc 2000, for a fixed price known before you set off.

Return to Geneva and days in La Plagne

Book the outbound and return together: the return gets 10% off. On a Saturday in February we advise an early departure to pass Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Moûtiers before the peak. As a chauffeur at your disposal, your driver takes you to La Plagne, Peisey-Vallandry, Sainte-Foy or to Bourg-Saint-Maurice for the Saturday market.

Practical tips before you leave

Allow 20 minutes to load skis from the residence's ski room; in Arc 1950, add the time to bring luggage down to the car park. Keep ski boots in a separate bag. For a morning flight a night departure is possible: the Tarentaise is clear and the journey often takes under two and a quarter hours.
