Route and travel time

The private transfer from Geneva Airport to La Clusaz covers about 60 km and takes around an hour. Your chauffeur takes the A41 motorway towards Annecy, exits before the city to join the D909 through Thônes, then follows the Nom valley to Saint-Jean-de-Sixt and La Clusaz, at 1,040 m, at the foot of the Aravis range.

It is one of the quickest resorts to reach from Geneva: an hour door to door with no pass to cross, which also makes it a weekend and day-trip destination.

La Clusaz: the village and its hamlets

The heart of La Clusaz is a genuine village clustered around its onion-domed church and the square, but rental chalets are spread over several massifs:

• The centre: hotels and apartments around the Place de l'Église and the Beauregard gondola.
• Les Confins: the valley above the village, with Lac des Confins, chalets and the cross-country area.
• Le Crêt du Merle and Les Aravis: the residences at the foot of the Aiguille massif, on the Col des Aravis side.
• L'Étale and the Col de la Croix-Fry: the chalets on the Manigod road, with the link to the Manigod ski area.

Give the chalet name and hamlet when booking: Les Confins and La Croix-Fry are several kilometres from the centre.

What the fixed price includes

The price shown before payment is for the whole vehicle, with no supplement for passengers, luggage or traffic.

• Meet and greet in arrivals with a name board, Swiss or French sector depending on your flight.
• Flight tracking and 60 minutes of free waiting time.
• Skis, snowboards, boot bags and suitcases loaded by the chauffeur.
• A direct journey to your door, with no other passengers.

Which vehicle for La Clusaz

For two or three, the Mercedes E-Class or S-Class. With a family or from four passengers, the V-Class (7 passengers, 10 bags), skis flat in the boot. For a shared chalet or a group of 8 to 19, the Sprinter is offered on quotation.

The La Clusaz road in winter

From Thônes to La Clusaz the D909 follows the valley floor with no pass or hairpins: one of the easiest resort roads in the Alps, well cleared, with a few shaded stretches that ice over in the morning. Our Mercedes run on winter tyres with chains on board, as the Mountain Law requires in Haute-Savoie, and our chauffeurs know the chalet roads of Les Confins and La Croix-Fry, where the steep climbs are.

Five massifs and the Aravis ski area

La Clusaz skis across five linked massifs: Beauregard, L'Étale, L'Aiguille, La Balme and the Manigod area, about 125 km of pistes, with La Balme topping out at 2,600 m for the best skiers. The Aravis pass adds Le Grand-Bornand, twelve kilometres away. The ski season generally runs from mid-December to mid-April; La Clusaz is also known for farmhouse Reblochon cheese from the Aravis, for its ski and snowboard champions, and for the Confins plateau, one of the finest cross-country sites in the northern Alps.

Child seats, pushchairs and equipment

Enter your children's ages when booking: an infant carrier, child seat or booster is fitted in advance. The V-Class takes a folded pushchair and a sledge alongside the skis. If you are hiring equipment in La Clusaz, tell us; a smaller vehicle may be enough.

Your transfer step by step

1. Online booking with flight number and chalet name; fixed price shown before payment.
2. The day before, you receive the chauffeur's name and phone number.
3. On landing the time is adjusted; the chauffeur waits in arrivals.
4. Loading, immediate departure on the A41.
5. About an hour later, drop-off at your chalet or hotel in La Clusaz.

No change at Annecy

La Clusaz has no railway station: from Annecy, 32 km remain by local bus, skis in hand, with a connection at the bus station. A private transfer leaves at your flight's actual arrival time, makes no stops and drops you at your door in an hour, for a fixed price known in advance.

Return to Geneva and days in Annecy

Book the outbound and return together: the return gets 10% off. As a chauffeur at your disposal, your driver takes you to Le Grand-Bornand, to the Col des Aravis for the view of Mont Blanc, or to Annecy, 30 minutes away, for the old town and the lake. Megève is 45 minutes away over the Col des Aravis when it is open.

Practical tips before you leave

Allow 15 minutes to load skis and keep boots in a separate bag. For an early-morning flight a 5 am departure is possible: the road is empty and the journey takes barely 55 minutes.
