Of the big Portes du Soleil resorts, Morzine is one of the quickest to reach from Geneva Airport, which explains its popularity with chalet groups and British families in winter, and with mountain bikers once the lifts reopen for summer. With a Geneva airport private transfer, nobody waits for a shuttle to fill: the car leaves when you do. Around an hour and a quarter later, you are unloading at the chalet.

Route and travel time
The private transfer from Geneva Airport to Morzine covers about 80 km and takes around 1 h 15. Your chauffeur takes the A40 motorway to the Cluses exit, then the D902 through Taninges and over the Col des Gets before dropping down to Morzine, at 1,000 m in the Dranse valley. An alternative via Thonon-les-Bains and the Aulps valley is possible when the A40 is busy; the chauffeur chooses according to the day's traffic.
Morzine is one of the resorts closest to Geneva: with a morning flight you have lunch in the village and ski in the afternoon.
Morzine, a village resort with scattered addresses
Morzine is a genuine Savoyard village with its main street, church and stone-and-timber chalets, but accommodation is spread over several areas:
- The centre and Le Pléney: hotels and apartments a short walk from the Pléney gondola and the Place du Baraty.
- Super-Morzine and Les Udrezants: residences on the Avoriaz side, near the Super-Morzine gondola.
- Les Prodains and Les Nants: at the head of the valley, at the foot of the Avoriaz cable car.
- Montriond and Essert-Romand: the neighbouring villages five minutes away, with many rental chalets.
Give the chalet or hotel name and, if possible, the area: some chalets sit on narrow roads above the village.
What the fixed price includes
The price shown before payment is for the whole vehicle, with no supplement for passengers, luggage or traffic.
- Meet and greet in arrivals with a name board, Swiss or French sector depending on your flight.
- Flight tracking and 60 minutes of free waiting time.
- Skis, snowboards, boot bags, suitcases and bikes loaded by the chauffeur.
- A direct journey to your door, with no other passengers.
- Tolls, fuel and VAT included; child seats on request at no extra charge.
Which vehicle for Morzine
For two or three, the Mercedes E-Class or S-Class. With a family or from four passengers, the V-Class (7 passengers, 10 bags), which also takes downhill bikes in summer. For a shared chalet, a training camp or a group of 8 to 19, the Sprinter is offered on quotation.
The Morzine road in winter
The Col des Gets (1,170 m) is one of the easiest accesses in the Alps: a wide, well-maintained road, but icy in the early morning between Taninges and Les Gets. Our Mercedes run on winter tyres with chains on board, as the Mountain Law requires in Haute-Savoie, and our chauffeurs know the chalet roads around the village, often the trickiest final metres of the trip.
The Portes du Soleil from the village
Morzine is the gateway to the Portes du Soleil, about 600 km of pistes between France and Switzerland. From the village, the Pléney gondola leads to the Morzine–Les Gets area; the Super-Morzine gondola and the Prodains cable car climb towards Avoriaz and the Swiss link to Champéry and Les Crosets. The ski season generally runs from mid-December to mid-April. In summer Morzine becomes one of Europe's downhill mountain-biking capitals, with lifts open to bikes from late June to early September, and Lake Montriond ten minutes away.
Child seats, pushchairs and equipment
Enter your children's ages when booking: an infant carrier, child seat or booster is fitted in advance. The V-Class takes a folded pushchair alongside the skis; in summer, state the number of bikes so we prepare the space. If you are hiring equipment in Morzine, tell us; a smaller vehicle may be enough.
Your transfer step by step
- Online booking with flight number and chalet name; fixed price shown before payment.
- The day before, you receive the chauffeur's name and phone number.
- On landing the time is adjusted; the chauffeur waits in arrivals.
- Loading, immediate departure on the A40.
- About 1 h 15 later, drop-off at your chalet or hotel in Morzine.
No change at Cluses or Thonon
Morzine has no railway station: from Cluses or Thonon-les-Bains you still need a bus with your skis and a sometimes long connection. A private transfer leaves at your flight's actual arrival time, makes no stops and drops you at your door in 1 h 15, for a fixed price known in advance.
Return to Geneva and days around Morzine
Book the outbound and return together: the return gets 10% off. As a chauffeur at your disposal, your driver takes you to Avoriaz, Les Gets, Lake Montriond, or down to Lake Geneva at Évian and Thonon for a non-ski day; Chamonix is an hour and a quarter away on the A40.
Practical tips before you leave
Allow 15 minutes to load skis from the chalet's ski room and keep boots in a separate bag. For an early-morning flight we leave from 4 am if needed: the road is empty and the journey takes barely more than an hour.
